We are currently looking for suitably qualified Technical Specialist to join our CAMO/Engineering department.   This position will be situated within the Jetstar CAMO Fleet Team. You will be responsible for supporting the fleet development activities mainly aircraft induction and exit, and display and ongoing commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

This position will require you to demonstrate extreme ownership of technical activities related to aircraft induction and exit.  You will need to demonstrate strong leadership through collaborating and partnering with other parts of Engineering, the airline and external stakeholders.   

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, broader responsibilities for these roles will include:

  • Provide CAMO technical support for Jetstar fleet ensuring safe, reliable and compliant management in your field of work;
  • Demonstrate commitment to CASA and other industry regulatory authorities that continued airworthiness management and company standards can be sustained by sound process and procedures;
  • Liaise with CASA Part 21 design organisations to develop and embody design changes to the fleet to support modifications and enhancements, ancillary revenue initiatives and fuel conservation projects;
  • Technically assess service literature from a large range of regulators, and OEM's;
  • Consult with Central Maintenance Planners and Heavy Maintenance Planners to ensure all maintenance requests are aligned with the expectations of Jetstar;
  • Investigate safety critical events and defects in order to find root cause, develop mitigates and collate sound investigative reports;
  • Provide technical expertise to the Maintenance Operations Centre and Jetstar Part 145 AMO by providing technical advice, documentation and AOG support;
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and actively manage all fleet reliability and safety threats
  • Act as the Technical Focal for AOG support on technical issues and provide onsite support as required;
  • Work with MRO Technical Coordinators to support operational requirements, C-Checks and other;
  • Support activities related to aircraft induction and exit;

We are on the hunt for someone who has experience, qualifications and attributes including:

  • Qualifications as a Professional engineer (degree) or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
  • Proven experience in an airline Technical Services (experience in Avionics/Cabin will be of an advantage)
  • Proven experience in aircraft induction related projects
  • Experience in airline MIS preferably TRAX System
  • Ability to communicate & negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Departmental processes and procedures
  • Process driven, with experience in constructing new processes to deliver business goals
  • Highly motivated with a learning mindset
  • Able to build effective working relationships
