Our People Shared Services team provide support to our corporate and operational teams across the Jetstar Australia & New Zealand network in the delivery of timely and accurate processing of payroll along with administrative support of HR processes across the employee lifecycle, managing the suite of People Systems and delivering value add learning/organisational development activities.  We pride ourselves on the delivery of superior customer service, data accuracy and quality payroll outcomes for our people, whilst creating an energetic, team environment.

This diverse role has two key focus areas, payroll administration support and payroll reporting.  Under the guidance of your experienced peers, this role will provide payroll administration support including resolving payroll queries, new starter set up and supporting leave applications and termination processes, whilst also getting involved with the delivery of critical payroll analysis and reporting.
 
As our Payroll Administration Officer, your accountabilities will include: 

  • Resolving payroll related queries from a range of stakeholders, including team members, leaders and the People (HR) Managers, corresponding professionally through our internal ticketing system
  • Providing payroll related services to the business across a variety of topics such as taxation, employee benefits, Superannuation and/or others.
  • Setup of new starters in our HR System (Workday) and supporting termination processes, such as checking of termination calculations 
  • Processing government paid parental leave applications 
  • Using and building expertise in our payroll system (ADP GlobalView) and HR system (Workday)
  • Assisting with reporting activities such month end reporting, leave accrual analysis, ABS Reporting and adhoc data analysis
  • As well as the opportunity to be involved with new payroll and people services projects as they arise.


About you

Our People Shared Services Team pride themselves on delivering on time, compliant and accurate processing of payroll data for multiple Jetstar pay runs, on a fortnightly and monthly basis.  We are searching for an individual with payroll administration experience (+2 years ideally with a payroll size of above 1000 for an EBA covered workforce) along with demonstrated advanced excel skills and experience in producing reports to the highest standard of accuracy in a timely manner.

Of equal importance is your passion for working as part of a team and your genuine care for delivering a great experience for our most important customer – our people.  Naturally, you will bring a structured, organised operating style and comfort to work within strict timeframes whilst flexible to get involved in a range of projects.   

You will bring:

  • Experience in managing payroll queries, ideally in a ticketing system, and processing activities such as leave applications and new starter setups. 
  • Exposure to relevant payroll acts and regulations and comfort in navigating industrial agreements (EBA, Awards)
  • Excellent excel skills (comfortable with pivot tables, lookups, formulas..)
  • Exposure to ADP Global View and Workday (or a similar system) will hold you in high regard, in addition to exposure to operating in a partially outsourced payroll environment (highly regarded but not essential).
