The Internal Communications and Events Advisor provides specialist support for the internal comms team and broader business to help drive the execution of the internal comms strategy. This role has a particular focus on events management, responsible for end-to-end planning, budgeting, delivery and evaluation of internal events, including conferences, forums, Town Halls, recognition ceremonies, local engagement activities and airport activations.

You’ll also provide a broad range of internal comms support for a number of Corporate & Support (head office) functions, designing and delivering internal comms plans across a range of core channels to drive awareness of their key projects and initiatives. You’ll be responsible for driving continuous improvement in line with the aims of the internal comms strategy, identifying opportunities for leaders across our network to authentically engage with their teams.

As an Internal Communications and Events Advisor, your accountabilities will include:

  • Working with other internal comms team members to design and deliver events that celebrate key moments for our people
  • Working with key stakeholders across Corporate & Support functions to communicate their key projects and priorities
  • Providing guidance to leaders on how best to engage with their teams, including our operational teams who work 24/7 in a variety of non-desk based environments
  • Account management of event and merchandise suppliers, always striving for the best value and delivering the right level of support for our people
  • End-to-end management of our employee charitable giving program “Giving the Dream”, as well as communications support for StarKids, our charity partnership in conjunction with World Vision.

To be considered, key skills will include:

  • Two years’ experience in a communications and/or events role (preferred)
  • Experience within an operations role, ideally aviation/transport (preferred)
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, confident advising senior leaders right across the business on best comms practice
  • An eye for creative solutions to problems, with the ability to confidently see an idea through from vision to execution
  • Managing your own workload to deliver to shifting deadlines and meet stakeholder expectations
  • Sound knowledge of the business priorities, in order to make informed autonomous decisions in the moment and connect the business strategy to everything you do
  • Strong understanding of the principles of employee engagement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
