We rely on our engineers to deliver our superior safety standards, up to the second. They’re the trouble-shooters, glitch-fixers and tech-experts who make sure we take to the sky safely. Helping our teammates soar is what we’re all about, and with a new fleet of state-of-the-art aircraft, plus new routes being added, the sky’s the limit. We are now seeking expressions of interest for qualified AME and LAMEs with endorsements/experience on the Airbus A320/1, or B787 to join our high performing team in Melbourne.
Employees in our Aircraft Maintenance Team are a critical part of our business and they:
- Carry out maintenance on company aircraft
- Ensure timely and correct completion of all work carried out
- Quality Control for aircraft presentation - upon completion of maintenance and prior to release
- Delivering quality and reliable maintenance and rectification services to a high standard Ensuring all WHS and Quality policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Comply with Jetstar’s Safety Management System
- Required to work at other ports (including international locations) as required
- Comply with all Jetstar training and compliance requirements
- Build and maintain a good working relationship with contractors and outside service providers
Subject to terms and candidate suitability, full sponsorship and generous relocation support may be available for international candidates plus dependents interested in relocating to Melbourne.
Remuneration on offer: All Jetstar Engineers in Australia are paid under the Jetstar Airways Engineering & Maintenance Enterprise Agreement 2023 which can be referenced HERE.
Base salary for a qualified AME with under 2 years experience post apprenticeship is $83,236 (excluding superannuation, overtime, allowances and potential bonuses plus heavily discounted staff travel fares for employees and limited beneficiaries). Salary increases subject to qualifications per our Enterprise Agreement.

If you bring the following qualifications and experience and wish to relocate to Melbourne, Australia, we want to hear from you:
- A CASA or EASA Part 66 B1 or B2 license (ideally minimum 3 years’ certification experience) OR
- Trade qualified in Mechanical, Avionics or Structures, experienced on A320, A321 or B787 (essential requirement)
- Willingness and ability to work nightshift in an ongoing capacity
- Willingness and ability to relocate for a permanent opportunity in Melbourne
- Excellent time management skills and a proven ability to effectively manage self and others
- A proven commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle competing demands, particularly when under pressure and/or managing multiple stakeholders; and
- A valid driving licence and ability to obtain an Airside Drivers licence
