It’s all part of the day job as a Jetstar Engineer – whether you’re on the frontline as a Maintenance Engineer or in our Engineering Corporate & Support Team ensuring that we land deadlines, keep projects on track and work as a team to help us transform our fleet for the better.

Your Opportunity

As the Technical Asset Manager – Powerplants, you will support the strategic management of Jetstar and Qantas Group’s engine assets by providing technical oversight throughout the asset lifecycle. You will ensure engines remain compliant, well-documented, and aligned with commercial and contractual requirements.

Reporting to the Fleet Asset Manager, a key part of your role is monitoring engine condition, maintaining accurate technical records, and analysing performance and configuration data to support lease transitions, shop visit planning, and asset trading decisions. As a result, your work will reduce risk, support commercial planning, and protect the long-term value of the engine portfolio.

To be successful in this role, ideally you’ll have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (aerospace, engineering, aviation) or at least 5 years of relevant work experience in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business
  • 5+ years’ experience in aviation powerplant management, ideally with exposure to MRO market, engine OEMs, aircraft/engine leasing company or an airline engine management department
  • Expertise in asset procurement and leasing
  • Ability to read and understand engine maintenance requirements and technical manuals
  • Ability to absorb technical information and apply effectively to maximise commercial outcomes
  • Experience with aircraft or engine Configuration and Control management  
  • Ability to lead with integrity and professionalism – demonstrating ethical supplier engagement, a high level of commitment, and self-responsibility
  • Apply strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills with a logical, detail-oriented approach
  • A strong commercial acumen with the ability to build strong relationships across the business and confidently engage with technical specialists to align contracts with business needs
