Reporting to the Service Delivery Lead, the System Analyst will be providing business and technical support functions to applications managed by the Technology Enablement department. The role will entail analysing and resolving system issues; implementing new features and changes, testing; and performing second level user support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Looking after the day-to-day operations of Jetstar’s Technology Enablement systems, including but not limited to the Reservation system, Digital channels (B2C/B2C websites, mobile), distribution channels (GDS/Interline/Codeshare/API), Payment systems, customer communication systems, departure control systems.
  • Providing second and third level user support on mission critical systems
  • Analysing system issues and coordinating resources and suppliers to resolve them
  • Monitoring the progress of problem tickets and updating the key stakeholders as required
  • Working with other Systems Analysts and providing escalation point where required
  • Working with key system vendors (e.g. Navitaire, BCS, Payment Gateways) and distribution partners (e.g. GDS, Qantas) to troubleshoot and quickly rectify loss of functionality
  • Analysing business and system processes to continuously improve process reliability and system stability
  • Working with system vendors on trends and critical/high issues that require escalation
  • Manage delivery of small to medium change requests
  • Testing new systems functionality during system upgrades or new initiatives
  • Provide project support on cross team projects where changes are required in Digital systems
  • Participating in a 24x7 on call roster
  • Performing tasks delegated by the Service Delivery Lead, Technology Enablement

You’ll have:

  • Experience in Airline reservation systems (e.g. Navitaire New Skies), Digital systems (B2C/B2B websites, mobile), Distribution systems (GDS/Codeshare/Interline/API), Payment systems (Payment gateways/portals) , and Departure Control Systems (e.g. Navitaire) (preferred)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Excellent technical skills with understanding of software development concepts and databases (SQLs)
  • Proven knowledge and experience in providing application and technical support
  • Experience in IT Service Management (ITIL) framework and methodologies
  • Excellent commercial understanding, e.g. from business studies or work experience
  • Experience with project work and process analysis
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal; Able to communicate to all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
  • Airline (especially low-cost carrier) / travel industry experience is beneficial, but not essential
