We have an exciting opportunity to join our Financial Control Team in the role of Senior Revenue & Systems Accountant. This role is responsible for contributing to the delivery of accurate, timely and compliant financials for all Jetstar branded airlines across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Japan.

Reporting to the Finance Manager Revenue Accounting & Systems, this role also acts as a Finance Business Partner and System Analyst across the Commercial Business to ensure that appropriate accounting treatments and mechanisms are in place to support the delivery of commercial revenue initiatives.

The core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Provide accurate and timely monthly revenue results for all JBAs.
  • Review journals and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by outsourced service provider to ensure accurate and timely month-end close
  • Drive continuous improvement in everyday activities and ensure regular actioning of balance sheet reconciliation items
  • Ensure results reflect commercial arrangements and comply with external reporting requirements.
  • Work alongside FP&A in monitoring revenue performance across all JBAs.
  • Business Partner with Commercial departments, including but not limited to Ancillary Revenue (Financial services, Car Hire, Media, Catering etc), Digital, Pricing and Revenue Management to transform business initiatives and innovative ideas into optimal and compliant revenue outcomes.
  • Represent Finance at business unit project meetings and workshops, add value with insights and revenue knowledge.
  • Act as the SME for Revenue Accounting System, ensuring service fees configured in accounting system fully comply with Accounting Standards.
  • Plan and lead UAT, regression testing and other ad hoc testing on behalf of Revenue Accounting for key system upgrades
  • As required, contribute to the accurate and timely delivery of tax and statutory requirements in Australia and wholly owned entities of the Jetstar Group
     

We are looking for someone who has experience, qualifications and attributes including:

  • Professional accounting qualifications (CA/CPA qualified) and experience in similar roles
  • Experience working with ERP systems i.e Oracle Financials, TM1 Financials)
  • Strong computer-based skills (intermediate to advanced Excel, Powerpoint)
  • A highly efficient and committed individual with a well-developed ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong financial and problem-solving skills with proficient commercial acumen
  • Demonstrated finance systems interest and proficiency
  • Team oriented with a high sense of customer satisfaction
  • Strong ability to influence, cross-culturally, externally and internally and build relationships with stakeholders across multiple locations
