As the Product Owner – Applications in the Airline Operations Technology domain, you will be responsible for driving the development and continuous improvement of IT solutions across departments essential to supporting our daily flying operations including Safety, Workforce Planning, Network Planning, and Pricing and Revenue Management. Acting as the vital link between these critical teams and Technology, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our systems and technologies are aligned with business goals.  You will be encouraged to think innovatively while working collaboratively across diverse teams, maintaining best practices, and driving efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading user requirements gathering and analysis, data and research, business analytics, evaluating and implementing innovative products and solutions.
  • Drive product implementation by leveraging industry research and building business cases to gather required funding.
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across the Qantas Group, Vendors & Contractors to ensure that products meet performance expectations.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and engagement by facilitating effective communication between internal teams and vendors.
  • Monitor and evaluate product progress and key performance indicators, analyse product performance and iterate on optimization strategies.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making by leveraging data analytics and insights to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment and stakeholder engagement to support the successful execution of the Operations Technology roadmap

You’ll have:

  • 2-3 years in a Product Owner role or similar.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of product management, design, and analysis principles and experience working with a development team to deliver features on time.
  • Confluence and Jira experience preferred.
  • Proven experience with product development, roadmap creation and execution.
  • Experience with transformational, enterprise level projects.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment, fostering collaboration and effective teamwork among cross-functional teams.
  • Strong drive, initiative, ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent project leadership, risk and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to various audiences.
  • Proven interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills, critical for understanding and addressing the unique requirements of our diverse customer base.
