About the Opportunity 

Are you ready to make a significant impact in the training space? Do you hold qualifications as a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) and seek to transition away from shift work while still enjoying the perks of travel? Join us as an Engineering Training Instructor!

In this role, you'll be pivotal in delivering consistent and timely training, focusing primarily on Technical Training for A320 and B787 Aircraft. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to support our Training Specialists in areas such as Human Factors training.

Reporting to the Engineering Training Manager, responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Delivery of compliance and technical training needs to schedule
  • Maintaining relevance / currency of training materials as per Quality Standards
  • Working closely with our Training Coordinator and Training Specialists to maximize efficiency of class time
  • Ensuring all training reports are loaded into our Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Implementing competency-based training assessments to measure performance / quality of training materials / programs.
  • Be expected to deliver Aircraft related Technical Training, including Engine Ground Run, Borescope etc.,
  • Actively support the facilitation of Technical Training through Subject Matter expertise, knowledge and skills obtained as a former Licensed Aircraft Engineer, particularly licensed on type A320 and/or B787.
  • Actively support our Training Specialists in ensuring current practices and procedures are recorded in the training content and are processed through the appropriate approval channels.
  • Be able to take initiatives to read and keep knowledge and skill levels current to meet the needs to ensure accurate practices/procedures are delivered during every training.
  • Provide Learning and Development expertise, professional guidance and ongoing support.
  • Promote a consultative and collaborative approach to training plans by establishing a strong internal network.
  • Collaborate and work with the business and the training coordinators to ensure delivery of training as intended to the intended audience.
  • Assist and support the training coordination requirements as needed.
  • Help pre-plan training facilitation calendar for a year in advance.
  • Ensure minimal cancellations of pre-booked training sessions.
  • Be able to support and act as a back-up for the Non-Technical Training.
  • Work alongside our other Training Instructors within the business to enable best practice sharing.

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills & experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification preferred, Cert IV in Training & Assessment (Essential)
  • Licensed on Type – A320 and/or B787
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an instructor (desired)
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to deal with ambiguity, complexity and confidential information
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and think both critically and strategically
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and influencing skills with the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Computer literacy, experienced user of MS Office suites
