As part of our commitment to growing our pipeline of future engineers, we’re excited to be searching for committed, team players to join our 2026 Engineering Apprentice Program, commencing in January 2026.
We’re offering a program that will see you trained across all the skills necessary to carry out aircraft maintenance. You’ll be coached and mentored by some of the best engineers in the industry and rotate through a range of engineering tasks – all designed to develop your technical skills and help you takeoff in your new career as a Jetstar Engineer. In 2026, we are seeking apprentices in the aviation trade streams of Structural, Mechanical and Avionics.

We rely on our engineers to deliver our superior safety standards, up to the second. They’re the trouble-shooters, glitch-fixers and tech-experts who make sure we take to the sky safely.
Our Melbourne Engineering Precinct, which is the main maintenance hub of our network, remains the proud home of Jetstar’s Apprentice Program. This year however, we’re also excited to offer a limited number of Apprentice roles based out of Sydney Airport. Our engineers are uniquely placed to enjoy a career that sees them developing skills across all functional areas of maintenance – line, intermediate and base activity. Our team also has the opportunity to work not only on Jetstar fleet, but customer aircraft – A320/21, B787 and A320 Freighter.

We’re searching for someone who:
- Brings a Year 10 School Certificate or equivalent, however a Year 12 School Certificate will give you a great advantage
- Able to commence full time employment with Jetstar in Melbourne or Sydney in January 2026
- Work experience is desired, but most importantly we are seeking individuals who bring a genuine curiosity and interest to learn about all things aviation and how we work as team to ensure that our aircraft take to the skies safely
- Has an ability to work a rotating roster across a 24/7 shift pattern, including night shift
- Is a Permanent Resident or Australian/NZ citizen at application.
